| September 11, 2001 proved that even the people living behind the greatest of armed forces can be subject to attack. On that fateful day, communication technology played a big part in determining who lived and who died in the 2 hours after the initial attack. Radio systems failed for first responders. People in authority with insufficient information broadcast erroneous instructions. Trapped civilians on the upper floors of the WTC had no audible guidance on how to best attempt to descend. Much has been done to improve radio-based systems and the interagency communications since that deadly day. More can be done.
With a Power Sonix Airborne Public Address System, police helicopters have the ability to speak directly to persons inside of high-rise buildings. Our high-powered systems penetrate through the walls. Hovering at a safe distance outside a burning building, pilots can provide critical verbal guidance. Our systems are also strong enough to directly speak to the streets below to give emergency instructions to pedestrians and onlookers.
Power Sonix systems can play an integral part in Homeland Security applications. Power Sonix provides the military, emergency managers and first responders with the abilities to speak clearly over great distances, speak directly to the affected public, and to do so immediately from aircraft, vehicles or backpacks, land installations and ships at sea. |
